Enga Eco-Tourism

Date Posted: Wed, Jan 28 2009, 06:27:53am

In 2001
when the cry had begun
to get Enga tourism on the run

We set up in Sari
with chicken and curry
and willing mangis galore

If Ipatas
that Shmikatas
had come to the party

Our eco-tourism today
would be well under way
And Enga would be ....

Now we see
with some sort of glee
$200000 splashed out
to remove that doubt
that Enga is great to see

Aussie novelist gaoled for lines on a page

Ridiculous!  [Aussie gaoled for writing fiction about Thai Royals]
It not only highlights the insanity of Thai law but makes a mockery of a fine people, the Thais. No wonder they take the law into their own hands when the law itself serves no one but thee law itself.
Our Governor General should be encouraged to lend a vice-regal hand and help this unfortunate man jailed for virtually nothing.

Israel and Gaza

Hi

What Israel is doing in Gaza will remain in history.

You have committed one of history's darkest and most shameful of crimes against humanity.

Shame

Dear Mr Keefe,

Thank you for your interest in, and concern for the present situation in Israel and Gaza.

The Embassy of Israel in Canberra understands your concern, but Israel stands by its right to defend its civilian population from terrorist attack. More than 10,000 rockets have been fired into Israel since 2001, despite a complete withdrawal from Gaza by Israel in 2005. Now, more than 800,000 Israelis are within range of Hamas’ terror attacks.

Hamas chose not to extend the state of calm that had existed between Israel and Hamas since June, and marked its end by stepping up rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

It has cynically used the population of Gaza as human shields, just as it builds its Qassam rockets near schools and hospitals. It bears the ultimate responsibility for civilian casualties in Gaza.

Even in this difficult situation, Israel is committed to dialogue, and a two-state solution. Israel will always believe in peace for its region.

For more information and updates, please see the Embassy’s website at http://canberra.mfa.gov.il.

Regards,

Embassy of Israel

Haneef's grammatical failure

Indian-born Dr Haneef spent two weeks in police custody without charge after being arrested while trying to board a flight to Bangalore at Brisbane International Airport in relation to a failed UK terror plot.

Oh for this beautiful Sunday
when I hear the bird sing
only one bird
boo hoo

Where have all the birds flown
why is Enga bereft of birds
Why is my paradise
bare
boo hoo

My forefathers told me
in a dream
that Enga was heaven
Then where is my heaven
not here
boo hoo

I have a song to sing
boo hoo
it is a sad song
boo hoo

I want to sing a merry song
a merry song for Jesus
But all I have is a sad song
I can't sing that for Jesus

Boo hoo
Boo hoo
Boo hoo
