Fittler should be ashamed. Cowardly, brutal and unnecessary. Only a coward would hit a defenceless player in this cowardly fashion.

Her Majesty's Australian Ship. HMAS. It is infradig to refer to a Royal Australian Naval ship as 'the' HMAS Sydney. We never say THE HMAS for that is ludicous ... The Her Majesty's Australian Ship sounds silly and is never used, except by journalists on television. By now these highly paid people should know little things such as name protocols. But, I suppose, if they don't know the difference between good and bad grammar, spelling, and the like, they will never know such arcane things as name protocol.

You really don't expect decency from Downer? Why now? He has never shown decency in all his years of public life.

Knights of Bushido bestow evil upon whales

It seems the Knights of Bushido have not altered their evil outlook on life since they experimented with pregnant women by growing bamboo in their uteruses; decapitated captives to see if they [the Knights] could remove the head of a living being without spilling blood; and tossed Nanjing babies from bayonet to bayonet to see if the blade were strong enough to withstand vigorous action. This business with whales is just another in a litany of senseless evil that emanates from a group of people who don't know their boundaries.

I bark at dog owners who maltreat their dogs

It is not the barking dog that gets me; it's the knowledge that some mongrel has left the dog in a lousy state of loneliness, hunger, thirst, heat or cold. It is the dog owner that annoys me.

Make the Liberals pay for their dereliction of duty. It staggers me that all their waste has not embarrassed them. They just spend and spend as if the money were not ours! Vaile, Downer and Howard, and all of their sycophantic apologists should band together to repay us for their maltreatment not only of us but of our standing in the world.

Ban the booze. Simple as that. Humans seem incapable of handling life under the effects of booze.

It is time for David Hicks to be called David Hicks and not to be coloured forever with the inane nomenclature of 'self-confessed terrorism supporter' or 'convicted terrorism supporter'. We all know who David Hicks is by now. Give him a chance!

Sack Ponting. He has a sharp mouth and I dislike him for it. That being so, it would not surprise me to find that others in the team also feel that way about the cricket captain.

Harbhajan sings up great entertainment for Aussies

Readers Opinions
Hayden let off lightly?

Feng Guolin,China, says:Harbhajan provides great entertainment for us Aussies and all this lather is hiding a great contest. Lighten up, You are wearing thin your welcome with all your whingeing and crying. Ishant Sharma, though an arrogant youth, is to be a great bowler and the sooner he cools his temper and gets on with the game the sooner he will realise his own fabulous potential. What is the real focus of our attention is the racist attitudes of India's cricket management. How can any Indian claim to be non racist with your horrible history of racism, inherent in your detestable caste system.28 Feb 2008, 0630 hrs IST
