From a historian's point of view, Saladin [English spelling] ranked among the finest warrior leaders of all time. Not only was he charismatic, but he handled fame correctly and did not get a swelled head. He was magnanimous and generous to his enemies and he made many friends among his enemies. He was a rare human being.
